Modern Exposure Kit

There is a simple yet aggressive approach to preparing and protecting the body, child or adult, for exposure to radioactivity and other chemicals and heavy metals in our food, air, and water. Scientific research says, "We have effective and organic solutions to many of our modern issues." Now is the time to use them.

BioRay, a dietary supplement company, with clinical experience and knowledge has created a simple and effective Modern Exposure Kit.[1]

This protocol was created to remove toxic levels of radioactivity and chemicals while supporting and protecting the body with adaptagenic herbs, foods, and minerals.

The key to reducing the impact of toxic exposures is to keep the toxins moving down and out. As an organ or system in the body becomes congested, it is overburdened with toxic waste. This backup creates acidity of the internal organs and tissue;  symptoms appear and disease can take hold.

The purpose of this article is to outline the effects of radioactivity, how the body works, and what beneficial interventions can be used to remove it.

How Can I be Exposed to Radioactivity?

Radioactive iodine, especially 131I - also called radioiodine, itmay be released into the environment as a result of nuclear reactor accidents. Its uses are mostly medical and pharmaceutical. When released into the environment it has a radioactive decay half life of about 8 days.

What Happens if I am Exposed to Radioactivity?

Thyroid accumulation of radioactive iodine increases the risk of developing thyroid issues, especially in children. The increased iodine trapping activity of the thyroid gland in iodine deficiency results in increased thyroid accumulation of radioactive iodine (131I). Thus, iodine-deficient individuals are at increased risk of developing radiation-induced thyroid conditions because they will accumulate greater amounts of radioactive iodine. In one study, Potassium iodide administered in pharmacologic doses within 48 hours before or eight hours after radiation exposure from a nuclear reactor accident can significantly reduce thyroid uptake of 131I and decrease the risk of radiation-induced thyroid conditions.

How Do I know if I have Sufficient Iodine in my Body?

Everyone should insure their dietary iodine intake is sufficient. Signs of a low level iodine are: fatigue, poor memory, and muscle cramps. WHO, World Health Organization, estimated that over 30% of the world’s population (2 billion people) has insufficient iodine intake as measured by urinary iodine excretion below 100micrograms (mcg)/liter[2]; urinary iodine is an indicator of iodine status. Moreover, an estimated 31.5% of school-age children (6-12 years old) worldwide (266 million total children) has insufficient iodine intake.

How Does Iodine Work in the Body?

Iodine works on the principle of competitive inhibition. If iodine has the receptor sites locked up then radioactive isotopes can't latch on to thyroid receptors and toxins will get passed out of the body.

Protecting the Thyroid Gland : Kelp and Iodine

Kelp is a large seaweed plant that grows in underwater "forests" in shallow oceans.

Kelp is one of nature's richest source of iodine. Natural sources of iodine is absorbed more slowly in the body than chemical iodine, making it a better choice. Iodine is a component of hormones in the thyroid gland and is essential for proper growth. It controls metabolism in every cell throughout the body and can greatly impact health and well-being if a deficiency occurs.

Kelp is a source of iodine, vitamin K, folate, magnesium, calcium, iron, manganese, and zinc.

Binding and Removing Radioactive Isotopes : Chlorella

Due to its mode of decay, iodine-131, or radioactivity, is notable for causing mutation and death in the cells which it penetrates. It is important to bind this toxic material as well as protect and nourish the body’s cells.

Chlorella is a single-celled algae that grows in fresh water. Chlorella emerged over 2 billion years ago, and was the first plant with a well-defined nucleus. Chlorella contains the highest amount of chlorophyll of any known plant. Its abundance of chlorophyll is known to protect the body against ultraviolet radiation.

Research conducted in Japan shows that chlorella removes radioactive particles, toxic chemicals, and heavy metals from the body. "Interestingly, Chlorella (E-25) afforded significant radio-protection even when it was administered within 0.4 hr after irradiation."  [3][4]

Protect the Body’s Cells: Chlorella Growth Factor

Besides chlorella’s binding to toxins capability, it has unique properties of a phytonutrient called Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF). CGF appears to enhance RNA/DNA functions responsible for production of proteins, enzymes and energy at the cellular level, stimulating tissue repair and protecting cells against toxic substances. When we have a sufficient intake of foods rich in DNA and RNA to protect our cellular nucleic acids, the cell wall continues to function efficiently, keeping the cell clean and well nourished.

Why Micronized Chlorella?

While science shows impressive results for chlorella and environmental toxins; whole chlorella diatoms can be difficult for the body to break down and utilize, until now.[5]

One drop of cell wall lysed or micronized chlorella is rendered more effective than whole chlorella, as the chlorella cells are reduced to millions of microscopic particles that are readily digested and utilized, providing superior detoxification. Note: a homeopathic preparation of chlorella will not work as it has no binding capabilities.

Chlorella provides all of the dietary-essential amino acids in excellent ratios. It is also a reliable source of essential fatty acids that are required for many important biochemical functions, including hormone balance. Chlorella also contains high levels of chlorophyll, beta-carotene and RNA/DNA. More than 20 vitamins and minerals are found in chlorella, including iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorous, pro-vitamin A, vitamins C, B1, B2, B2, B5, B6, B12, E and K, biotin, inositol, and folic acid.

The Liver: Escort Toxins Out of the Body

Liver cells are comprised of sophisticated mechanisms designed to break down the toxic substances that constantly bombard the body. Due to this foundational work for removing any toxin - the liver is considered “the general of the army” in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The liver is a complex organ that plays a key role in most metabolic processes, especially detoxification.

The safest and most effective way to improve liver function is by taking a well balanced herbal formula containing medicinal mushrooms. Several, such as maitake, himmematsutake, and coriolus versicolor show with their high antioxidant content to be a superior source of beta glucans, a food for the liver - this restores the liver to it’s original function or job - detoxifying the blood and body.[6][7][8]

How Do I Know if My Liver is Functioning Optimally?

Balancing Phase I & II liver detox pathways is fundamental for toxins to leave the body via the urine or bowels. When the first morning urine pH is in the acidic range of 5.5 - 6.2, this indicates toxins are leaving. Testing first pH is easy for anyone to do at home with litmus paper of pH sticks purchased from a local pharmacy. When this acidic waste is leaving the body, it is easier for the alkaline reserve to come into balance, as seen with a saliva pH range of 6.8 - 7.2. This in turn supports oxygen in the blood. Many health issues or symptoms have a difficult time 'sticking' in a healthy alkaline environment.

Protect the Nervous System & Brain: Essential Fatty Acids

Essential fatty acids (EFAs) are polyunsaturated fats that are a critical component of a healthy brain, inner ear, eyes, adrenal glands, and sex organ function.

Our bodies cannot produce EFAs, so they must be consumed through food or supplements. However, in our modern industrialized food system, omega-3s have become largely absent from the food chain while omega-6s have become overabundant. Even the healthiest diets contain too many omega-6s and not enough omega-3s, and decades of scientific evidence indicates that this EFA imbalance can contribute to chronic inflammation and a variety of chronic health issues. The ideal ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fats is 1:1, but today, the average ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 is 20:1 to 50:1.

The primary sources of omega-6 are corn, soy, canola, safflower and sunflower oil; these oils are overabundant in the typical diet, which explains our excess omega-6 levels. Avoid or limit these oils. The most beneficial omega-3s that we’re missing are EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). These omega-3’s, are typically found in flaxseed oil, walnut oil, krill or cod oil, and fish. It is important to purchase a high quality and balanced 3, 6, 9 omega supplement.

The Bowels: Keep ‘Em Moving

We start with the bowels because if the bowels are not moving, no healing can take place.

Three to four bowel movements a day is optimal, based on eating 3 meals a day.An ideal bowel movement is medium brown, the color of plain cardboard. It leaves the body easily with no straining or discomfort. It should have the consistency of toothpaste, and be approximately 4 to 8 inches long. Stool should enter the water smoothly and slowly fall once it reaches the water. There should be little gas or odor. Using a magnesium oxide and ascorbic acid supplement can assist those with a sluggish bowel.

Stay Hydrated

Drink 4 - 6 ounces of clean water every hour to hour and a half. This is approximately the amount the kidneys can comfortably process and keep you hydrated.

To boost hydration, add fresh squeezed lemon, as much or little as desired, to water. Fresh lemon alkalizes the body while supporting cellular energy. Lemons contain 48.3% potassium, 29.9% calcium 11.1% phosphorus, and 4.4% magnesium.

End Note

If we are to have balance in our world, in the health and vitality of our bodies, it is absolutely essential that we return to nature and use products that breakdown safely and without harm. The conversations of our current time require a shift to integrating what’s beneficial, useful, and non-damaging.
