“Most people, including many physicians, do not realize that 80 percent of your immune system is located in your digestive system, making a healthy gut a major focal point if you want to maintain optimal health.”
- Dr. Joseph Mercola, MD
Gut dysbiosis is an imbalance in the microbial environment of the gastrointestinal tract (GI). Typically, a healthy person will have an optimal amount of good bacteria and microorganisms to combat any unhealthy bacteria, parasites, and yeasts in the lower digestive tract. Gut dysbiosis can result from a deficiency of good bacteria or an overgrowth of harmful organisms.
In a healthy colon, the beneficial bacteria count is up to 100 billion per milliliter. However, in the typical American intestinal tract, that count may be as low as 4 or 5 per milliliter.
Some Symptoms of Gut Dysbiosis
- Indigestion, Diarrhea, and/or Constipation
- Fatigue
- Allergies
- Food Intolerances
- Bloating, Belching, or Excessive Flatulence
- Weak or Cracked Finger Nails
- Skin Irritations and/or Rashes
- Chronic Yeast Infections
What is the Difference between Good and Bad Bacteria?
Bad bacteria are pathogenic. They are disease-causing microorganisms. Good bacteria are known as probiotics, living microorganisms that have beneficial effects on human health.
Why is this Important to my Health?
When there is a significant decrease in friendly beneficial bacteria and a high level of unfriendly pathogenic bacteria in the gut, this can trigger the onset of chronic degenerative disease and a suppressed immune system. Driving these pathogenic microbes out of the gut is key to decreasing inflammation and restoring balance in the gastro-intestinal tract.
If gut dysbiosis persists over time in a person’s body, it can lead to leaky gut syndrome and inhibit proper nutrient absorption from food. Leaky gut can occur as a result of damage to the intestinal walls caused by harmful microbes and the toxins they produce.
Gut Dysbiosis May Cause Weight Gain
When gut dysbiosis is present, incomplete or improper digestion occurs. The body then fails to get the full nutritional value from ingested food and you remain hungry. Even if you’re eating the right foods, this inability to break down food correctly can leave you nutrient deprived.
Dysbiosis can also lead to food intolerances. Food intolerances are caused by reactions to foods, either because of improper digestions, damage to the gut lining, immune dysfunction, or improper enzyme production. When you develop a food intolerance, your body begins to attack that particular food as part of its immune reaction, which causes a number of biochemical changes to occur.
When you eat a food you are sensitive to, the body often releases endorphins as it ramps up its defense to fight the offending culinary invader. Our body misinterprets those signals and wants the endorphin rush, so cravings for the intolerant foods are induced.
CytoFlora™ pushes pathogens from the gastro-intestinal tract and corrects gut dysbiosis while both delivering an immune strengthening impact and creating an environment for healthy intestinal flora to colonize.
CytoFlora™ contains beneficial bacteria that have been cell wall lysed (decimated), releasing the vital substances and nutrients from the cell wall and cytoplasm. These immune system modulators exist inside the cells of healthy bacteria and are not readily available in most probiotic formulas. BioRay’s proprietary manufacturing process makes CytoFlora™ a unique and potent lysed probiotic tincture.
Scientific Research
It is believed that as many as 75% of autistic children are affected by gastrointestinal dysfunction. BioRay's new cell wall lysed probiotic, CytoFlora™ has been shown in clinical testing to correct microbial imbalances, drive pathogens out of the gastrointestinal tract and encourage re-colonization of healthy bowel flora.
In a 35-day study of ten autistic children, Immunobilan testing by VIP Dx Laboratory measured immunoglobulins A (IgA) and M (IgM), two antibodies that a play critical role in immune system response. Baseline results showed elevated IgA and IgM levels, signifying an immune response to bacteria and "leaky gut". At completion of the study, results revealed a 55% overall decrease in IgA levels and a 27% decrease in IgM levels.
Parents of study participants initially reported a variety of symptoms, including:
- Food sensitivities
- Yellow teeth
- Hyperactivity
- Lethargy
- Irrational behavior
- Constipation
- Diarrhea
- Anxiety
- Detachment from their environment
- An inability to communicate verbally and nonverbally
After 21 days on CytoFlora™, scores on the Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist, which measures Communication, Sociability, Cognitive Awareness, and Health/Physical/Behavior, indicated a 30% overall improvement.
Until now, antibiotics have been the only recognized treatment for elevated bacteria and gastrointestinal inflammation.
"We see many Chronic Fatigue and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity patients in our laboratory with elevated IgA and IgM. Most are put on antibiotics for eight months followed by a course of probiotics. The CytoFlora™ results represent the first time I have seen this kind of decrease in IgA and IgM in only a few short weeks."
- Craig Setter of VIP Dx Laboratory

Toxic levels of heavy metals and chemicals are said to be contributing to the presence of neurological disorders and other health issues in our children, including Autism, ADHD, asthma and allergies. Kid’s Corner provides safe, simple and effective ways to remove these neurotoxins from our children.
CytoFlora™ Study with Children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Ten autistic and immune-deficient children were placed on a 3-week protocol of CytoFlora™. At completion results revealed a 55% overall decrease in IgA levels and a 27% decrease in IgM levels, as well as a 30% overall improvement in ATEC scoring.
